BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The NAIA has released its latest men's and women's swimming Top Times Lists and several Union College swimmers are highly ranked in several events.
For the women's team, five relay teams rank in the top five nationally. The 200-free (1:38.77), 400-free (3:36.08) and 800-free (7:56.62) relay squads have all posted the third best times in the nation, while the 200-medley (1:50.12) and 400-medley (4:02.27) are ranked fourth in the country.
Individually for the women, Callie Harrigan leads the way, as she has posted the best time in the country in the 100-free (52.92) and the third best time in the 50-free (24.40). Harrigan also ranks fourth in the 200-back (2:07.56) and eighth in the 100-back (59.53).
On the men's side, five relay teams are ranked, led by the 800-free relay squad in fifth nationally (7:08.27). The 200-medley relay team sits in sixth overall (1:37.25), the 400-medley relay squad is in seventh (3:35.45) and the 400-free relay team sits in eighth in the Nation (3:13.49). The 200-free relay team rounds out the list in 12th overall (1:30.91).
Individually, Bradley Moore and Jose Jesus Morales lead the Bulldogs in this week's list. Moore is first in the country in the 1000-free (9:52.17), second in the 1650-free (16:33.42), third in the 500-free (4:39.44), and eighth in both the 200-back (1:56.33) and 200-free (1:44.00). Meanwhile, Morales leads the country in the 400-IM (4:05.69) and is sixth in the 200-fly (1:55.10).
Elsewhere, Dalton Baxter is fourth in both the 500-free (4:40.35) and 1000-free (10:08.82), and seventh in the 1650-free (16:54.67), while Vinicius Rossi rounds out the top performances for the men's squad as he is sixth in the 100-breast (58.24) and 10th in the 200-breast (2:09.97).
The Union College men's and women's swimming teams are idle for Holiday Break until Jan. 18, when they host Emory and Henry in a dual meet at the Stivers Center. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
