BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union head coach Bart Osborne recently finalized the 2014 baseball schedule, which features 36 home contests.
The Bulldogs are slated to play 15 home games in February, 12 in March and nine in April. Meanwhile, only 20 contests will be away from Jerry W. Carey Stadium.
Union opens the season with an 11-game homestand beginning with a doubleheader against Cumberlands (Ky.) on Feb. 1 at 1 p.m. The Bulldogs will then play a three-game series with Davenport (Mich.) on Feb. 7-9 before hosting Asbury (Ky.) for a twinbill on Feb. 11. Union will play a four-game set against Concordia (Mich.) on Feb. 15-16.
The first road game is scheduled for Feb. 18 at Lindsey Wilson (Ky.).
The Bulldogs will play a 27-game Appalachian Athletic Conference slate with five of the three-game series on the road. Union will play at St. Andrews (N.C.) on March 1-2, Milligan (Tenn.) on March 8-9, Truett-McConnell (Ga.) on March 29-30, Reinhardt (Ga.) on April 11-12 and Tennessee Wesleyan on April 26-27. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs will host Virginia Intermont on March 15-16, Montreat (N.C.) on March 22-23, Point (Ga.) on April 4-5 and Bryan (Tenn.) on April 18-19.
Last season, Union finished 30-23 overall and 14-10 in the AAC.
Under Osborne, the Bulldogs have 10 30-win seasons and six 40-win seasons in going 410-166 for a .712 winning percentage.
