BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union head tennis coach Roscoe Moonieyan recently announced the 2014 schedules for the men's and women's tennis programs.

This marks the first season Union has competed in intercollegiate tennis since 2011 when the programs were suspended.

The men's and women's teams will play identical schedules with the exception of the women's squad having one more conference match since the Appalachian Athletic Conference has one all-women's school as a member. The men will play three home matches, eight road dates and five conference matches. The women have four home matches, eight road contests and six conference dates.

The season will begin on Feb. 15 with a conference match at SCAD Atlanta (Ga.). The women's team will then play its first home match on Feb. 22 as AAC foe Columbia (S.C.). The men's first home match is on March 3 against league rival Point (Ga.) as the Union squads will play an early morning contest at 9:30 a.m.

The rest of the schedule goes as follows: Campbellsville (Ky.) at home on March 18; at Tennessee Wesleyan on March 21; at St. Catharine (Ky.) on March 24; at Milligan (Tenn.) on March 26; Cumberlands (Ky.) at home on March 28; at Campbellsville on March 31; at Reinhardt (Ga.) on April 5; and at Cumberlands on Arpil 8.

The 2014 AAC Tournament is set for April 11-12 at the Dekalb Tennis Center in Atlanta, Ga.

Prior to the recent hiatus, the men's tennis program had won five AAC regular-season championships, four AAC tournament championships, two region titles and made five trips to the NAIA National Championship Tournament. The women's program amassed four AAC regular-season championships, three AAC tournament crowns, two region championships and five berths to the NAIA National Championship Tournament.
