FORT GAINES, Ga. - Junior Dudley McKenna put up a valiant effort, but she came up just short of winning the NAIA Region XII Women's Golf Tournament as she placed second overall on Tuesday.

The Mt. Sterling, Ky. native posted a three-day score of 257, but McKenna four strokes back of Megan Cox of Tennessee Wesleyan who won with a 253.

McKenna and Cox were tied for the lead following the first two rounds as each had compiled a score of 163. However, McKenna struggled in the final round, shooting a 94 while Cox fired an 87.
