BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College women's swimmer Kasey McCormick has been named the Appalachian Swimming & Diving Conference's Women's Swimmer of the Week for the period ending Feb. 3, the league announced Wednesday.
McCormick, a senior, paced the Bulldogs to a pair of big dual meet victories over Milligan (Tenn.) and St. Catharine (Ky.) this past Saturday in the squads first event since coming back for the Spring semester.
Overall, McCormick won two individual events, taking the 50-free in 25.79 and the 200-breast in 2:32.76. The marks in both event for McCormick were NAIA "A" qualifying times.
In her third individual event, McCormick placed third in the 200-back with a time 2:24.78. Finally, she was a member of the "B" exhibition 200-free relay and split 25.80 in route to a 1:49.17 for the team.
McCormick and the rest of the Union women's swimming team will be back in action on Sunday, hosting King (Tenn.) and Bethel (Tenn.) in their regular season finale at the Stivers Aquatic Center. Things get underway at 2 p.m.
