BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College men's and women's track & field teams will open the 2014 indoor portion of their schedule this weekend, kicking off their seasons at the Tiger Small College Invitational in Greencastle, Ind.

The event is the first of 10 the Bulldogs will take part in between the indoor and outdoor portions of their schedule. The team will be led into the season by first year head coach Joel Childs, who was hired to take the reigns of the program this past July.

The event this weekend will be first of three in the indoor portion of the schedule, which continues Feb. 15 at Depauw (Ind.) Invitational. The final indoor meet for the Bulldogs will take place on Mar. 1, as the teams take part in the Fred Witt Memorial Invitational in Anderson, Ind.

The outdoor portion of Union's schedule starts on Mar. 22, as the Bulldogs travel to the Power Sox Invitational in Hickory, N.C. After the teams spilt between the Shorter (Ga.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) Invitationals on Mar. 29, they'll come back together at the Centre (Ky.) Invitational on Apr. 5.

The Bulldogs' final warm-up before the 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships will take place on Apr. 12 at the Cumberlands (Ky.) Invitational. The season ends for Union on Apr. 17 and 18, as they take part in the AAC Championships, which will once again take place in Johnson City, Tenn.
