BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - The Union College women's basketball team enters the 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament as the No. 2 seed, and begin postseason play on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs await their first opponent as they will face the winner of a play-in contest between No. 7 seed Virginia Intermont and No. 10 seed Columbia (S.C.). Union went a combined 4-0 verses these teams during the regular-season.
The AAC Tournament, which begins on Wednesday morning with a pair of play-in games, will be played for the second straight season at the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort & Convention Center in Kingsport, Tenn. The Bulldogs will play the third quarterfinal matchup on Thursday.
Union finished the regular season on a five-game win streak, the longest for the Bulldogs during the 2013-14 campaing. Union is 21-8 overall and went 16-4 in league play.
On Friday, semifinal action will take place at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., with the tournament ending on Saturday with the championship game set for 4 p.m.
