ANDERSON, Ind. - The Union College track & field teams concluded the indoor portion of their schedule on Saturday, taking part in the Fred Wilt Invitational, held on the campus of Anderson University.

Overall, the Union women's team placed 11th in the competition, while the men's team finished 18th.

For the women on the track, Jessica Shepherd started the day with a 10th place finish in the 60-meters, crossing the finish line in 8.48. Shepherd followed up that by finishing 11th in the 200-meters in 28.38. Meanwhile, Danielle Jasiewicz broke a school-record in the 1000-meter run, placing seventh in 3:52.05.

In the 5000-meters, Miranda Epperson was eighth in 26:32.29, followed by teammate Stefanie Edgell in ninth with a time of 27:28.38. Rounding out the performances on the track for the women's team was the distance medley relay team of Jasiewicz, Edgell, Becky Allen and Helen Weber, who captured the event in a school-record time of 17:16.75.

In men's track events, Domonique Jefferson was 11th in the 200-meters (23.80) and 12th in the 100-meters (7.28), while Nick Cash was fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase (12:30.61). In the field, William White was 10th in the shot put (39 feet, 10.75 inches) and 11th in the weight throw (41 feet, one inch).

The Union College track & field teams will open their 2014 outdoor season on Mar. 22, traveling to Hickory, N.C. for the Power Sox Invitational.
