PINEVILLE, Ky. - The Union men's and women's golf teams both lead the fields at the Union Spring Tournaments at Wasioto Winds Golf Course in Pineville, Ky.

The Union men own a six-stroke lead, while the women maintain a 17-stroke advantage over the second-place team.

The second and final round is set to take place on Tuesday.

In the men's field, the Bulldogs posted a team score of 299, six better than second-place Asbury (Ky.). 

Andy Dusek (FR, Woking, England) and Thomas Scott (JR, Tai Po, Hong Kong) are in a three-way tie for first with Asbury's Daniel Patterson as all three fired a one-over 73. Brady Sharkey (SO, Carmel, Ind.) is fourth overall at two-over 74, and Simon Taylor (JR, Eckenhaid, Bayern, Germany) and Nick Blankenship are tied for fifth at three-over 75.

On the women's side, Union leads the field of four teams with a score of 336. Mars Hill (N.C.) is in second at 353, while Malone (Ohio) is third at 361 and Asbury is fourth at 387.

Malone's Kaitlyn Brant sits atop the leader board with a seven-over 79, while Brittany Zins (SR, Cincinnati, Ohio) is second with a nine-over 81. Sydney Smith (SO, Greensburg, Ky.) and Jacqueline McCormick of Mars Hill are in third at 11-over 83, and Dnielle Judd rounds out the top five with a 12-over 84.

Zins, Smith and Judd all started out strong for the Bulldogs with each posting a 40 on the front nine.
