LONDON, Ky. - The Union College men's golf team completed their third and final round at the 2014 SEKI at a chilly Crooked Creek Golf Club on Tuesday, as the Bulldogs finished in a tie for third as a team in the tournament.
After posting combined team rounds of 306 and 304 in rounds one and two yesterday, the Bulldogs shot 316 in the third round to finish in a tie for third place with Milligan (Tenn.), firing a combined three-round score of 926. Overall, host Cumberlands (Ky.) captured the tournament with a score of 893.
Individually for Union, Alasdair Ross (FR/Fort William, Scotland) climbed up the leaderboard in the third round, firing a one-over round of 73 to finish with a three-day total of 227, and in tie for seventh overall. The other Bulldog to finish in the top ten was Thomas Scott (JR/Tai Po, Hong Kong), who posted a three-over score of 75 on the day to place in a tie for 10th (Scott had a combined score of 228).
Elsewhere, teammates Nick Blankenship (FR/Ashland, Ky.) and Andy Dusek (FR/Woking, England) finished in a tie for 15th after posting three-day total scores of 233, while Simon Taylor (JR/Eckenhaid, Bayern, Germany) rounded out the top performances for Union in the invite, finishing 20th with a three-day total of 236.
The Union College men's golf team returns to action on Monday, taking part in the Bryan (Tenn.) Invitational. The tournament, which will also serve as the Spring Appalachian Athletic Conference Championship, ends on Tuesday.
