ROME, Ga. - The Union College men's and women's track & field teams continued their 2014 outdoor season on Saturday, taking part in the Shorter (Ga.) Invitational in soggy conditions in Rome, Ga.

On the men's side, William White (SR/Manchester, Ky.) once again led the Bulldogs. collecting top ten finishes in two events. White placed second in the javelin with a 119 foot, one inch toss, seventh in the hammer throw with a 121 feet, nine inch effort, and 13th in the discus with a 106 feet, five inch effort.

Elsewhere, Andrew Johnston (SR/Benton, Ky.) was fourth in the pole vault with a final clearance of 11 feet, 11.75 inches, and Matt Francis (JR/Salyersville, Ky.) was ninth in the hammer throw with a 105 foot toss. Danny Trauth (SO/Cincinnati, Ohio) rounded out the top men performers on the day, placing eighth in the javelin (83 feet, seven inch effort). In the lone track event of note for the Bulldog men, Domonique Jefferson (JR/Lawrenceville, Ga..) was 15th in the 100-meter dash, crossing the final line in 11.56.

For the women's team, Abby Tigue (JR/Pineville, Ky.) posted the lone performance of note on the day, as she finished 11th in the discus with a toss of 89 feet, eight inches.

The Union College men's and women's track & field teams return to action on Saturday, taking part in the Centre Invitational in Danville, Ky.
