CROSSVILLE, Tenn. - The Union College men's golf team sits in third place overall after the first round of the 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Spring Championship, held at the par 72 Lake Tansi Golf Course.
In the overall team race, the Bulldogs posted a first round score of 307. Union trails both Tennessee Wesleyan and Milligan (Tenn.) by five shots entering Tuesday's final round, as both posted first day scores of 302.
Individually, Garrett Bradley (SR/Jellico, Tenn.) paced Union in the first round, firing a one-over 73. Elsewhere, Simon Taylor (JR/Eckenhaid, Bayern, Germany) posted a two-over round of 74, while Alasdair Ross (FR/Fort William, Scotland) shot a 79 (+9) to round out the top finishes on the day for the Bulldogs.
Action wraps up at the AAC Spring Championship tomorrow, where the Bulldogs will play in the final group off the tee.
