ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Union College's Luke Collis (SR/St. Charles, Mo.) was named the Appalachian Athletic Conference's Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the period ending Apr. 13, the conference office announced on Monday.

Collis had a big hand in two of the Bulldogs' victories on the week, as the team moved to 29-14 (13-8 in the AAC) by winning four of the five games they played.

First against No. 7 Georgetown (Ky.) on Tuesday, Collis came in the eighth inning and got the final six outs, earning his second save of the season in the process, as the Bulldogs upset the Tigers, 3-1.

Then, in game one of an AAC doubleheader on Saturday at Reinhardt (Ga.), Collis tossed a complete game, scattering five hits in seven innings of work, while striking out a season-high six batters in Union's 5-1 win over the Eagles that clinched the Bulldogs a series victory.

For the year, Collis is 7-1 with a 3.02 ERA. This is the second time in Collis' career that he has earned AAC Pitcher of the Week honors, as he took the honor on Apr. 14, 2013.

The Union College baseball team returns to action on Wednesday, as they host Campbellsville (Ky.) in a nine-inning affair at Jerry Carey Stadium. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
