ACWORTH, Ga. - It was a busy day for the Union College men's golf team at the 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament Championship on Monday, as the Bulldogs sit in third place overall after the first 36 holes of action at the par-72 Governor's Towne Club.
Overall, Union posted scores of 303 and 299 on the day to record a combined score of 602. Tennessee Wesleyan leads the pack entering the final round, posting a two-round score of 590 (301-289), while Milligan (Tenn.) is in second with a score of 595 (300-295).
Individually, Simon Taylor (JR/Eckenhaid, Bayern, Germany) and Andy Dusek (FR/Woking, England) paced the Bulldogs in the first two rounds. Taylor bounced back from a first round 80 to fire a second round one-under par score of 71, posting a combined score of 151 in the process to put himself in a tie for 12th overall. Meanwhile, Dusek notched scores of 74 and 77 to also put himself in a tie for 12th overall, as well.
Elsewhere, Garrett Bradley (SR/Jellico, Tenn.) is in a tie for 15th overall after posting a pair of 76's on the day (152 combined score), while Tim Cooper (SR/Falmouth, Ky.) (75-78) and Alasdair Ross (FR/Fort William, Scotland) (78-75) are in a tie for 17th after recording combined scores of 153 on the afternoon.
Action at the 2014 AAC Championship Tournament concludes on Tuesday afternoon.
