JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Union College men's and women's track & field teams finished off their 2014 season on Thursday, as both teams finished third overall at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Championships, contested at the Sidney Smallwood Track.

Overall, Tennessee Wesleyan captured the men's side of the conference championship, while Milligan (Tenn.) won the women's conference title.

For the Bulldog women's team, Helen Weber (JR/Marburg, Germany) won the lone event on the second day of competition for the team, capturing the high jump with a four foot, 5.50 inch effort. Elsewhere in the field for the women, Alex Prokopchak was third in both the javelin (76 feet, two inches) and triple jump (32 feet, 5.75 inches), and fourth in the discus (79 feet, one inch toss). For her efforts, Prokopchak was an All-AAC pick in the javelin and triple jump.

On the track for the women's team, Jessica Shepherd (SO/Somerset, Ky. ) was fourth in the 200-meter dash in a time of 26.91 (to earn All-AAC honors), while the 4x400 meter relay team of Weber, Shepherd, Danielle Jasiewicz (JR/Worcester, Mass), and Becky Allen (FR/Manchester, Ky. ) finished second, crossing the finish line in 4:38.39 to earn All-AAC honors in the event.

For the men's team, William White (SR/Manchester, Ky.) was third in the javelin with a toss of 129 feet, seven inches, with teammate Michael Shepherd coming in fourth in the event with a 127 foot, seven inch effort (both earned All-AAC honors in the event). In the discus, Matt Francis (JR/Salyersville, Ky.) was fourth with a 108 foot, four inch toss, while in the high jump, Decorwyne Dunnaway (FR) finished in a tie for third overall (five foot, eight inch effort) to earn an All-AAC selection.

In track events for the men, Domonique Jefferson (JR/Lawrenceville, Ga.) finished fourth in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 23.27, while the 4x100 meter relay team of Jefferson, Dunnaway, Thales Galan (JR/Santa Andzie, Brazil) and Andrew Johnston (SR/Benton, Ky.) placed third in 46.76 to earn All-AAC honors.
