KINGSPORT, Tenn. - Union posted a sixth-place finish at the 2014 Appalachian Athletic Conference Direct Qualifying Tournament on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs put together a two-day tally of 691, finishing 17 back of fifth-place SCAD Atlanta (Ga.). St. Andrews (N.C.) won the event with a final score of 630, which was 26 strokes better than second-place Milligan (Tenn.). Tennessee Wesleyan and Reinhardt (Ga.) tied for third as both shot 671.

In all, 10 teams competed.

Danielle Judd posted the best finish by a Bulldog, tying for 16th with a two-day score of 169. Katie Nusz tied for 18th with a 171, and Brittany Zins shot a 172 to tie for 22nd. Sydney Smith rounded out Union's scoring with a 179, good enough to tie for 30th.

Laura Kinsman took medalist honors by winning with a score of 156.
