KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Union College's Ashley Wojnowski (JR/Sevierville, Tenn.) was tabbed as an Honorable Mention selection on the 2014 NAIA All-American Softball Team, the National Office announced on Friday morning. The team is selected by the NAIA All-America committee.
With the selection, Wojnowski, a junior, becomes the first Union College softball player in program history to earn NAIA All-American Honorable Mention honors.
In 2014, Wojnowski played a variety of positions in the Bulldog infield and outfield. At the dish, Wojnowski was the teams offensive leader all season, ending the year batting a team-high .423 with 66 hits (also a team-best). In all, Wojnowski ended the year scoring 37 runs, while recording 22 RBI, as well.
Wojnowski also made some history throughout the year, ending the season breaking a program record with 10 triples. Matching the school-record for triples in a game on three separate occasions throughout the season (two), Wojnowski ends the season tied for the lead in total triples in the entire NAIA. Throughout the season, she also broke the school record for career triples, and now has 19 entering her senior season.
Wojnowski, who also earned a spot on the 2014 All-AAC First Team, helped the Bulldogs record a 22-22 overall mark in 2014.
