BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's head swimming coach Rafael Forti has announced that Cameron Donaldson has announced his National Letter of Intent, and plans to join the Bulldog program in time for the Fall 2014 semester.

Donaldson, a native of Jersey, Channel Islands, United Kingdom, plans to swim both long distance freestyle events, and IM for the Bulldogs.

"I am glad Cameron has chosen Union College to continue swimming while pursuing his bachelor's degree," said Forti. "He has a lot of experience and is a very strong swimmer. He will make a positive impact right away, and I am looking forward to it."

In his native country, Donaldson was a gold medalist in the 1500-free at the 2013 Island Games, also medaling in both the 400-IM and 400-free, earning bronze medals in each event. Donaldson also placed in the top 10 in the 1500-free in British Nationals at the ages of 16 and 17, and earned a Regional Gold Medal in the 1500-free, as well.

The son of Bob and Debbie Donaldson, Cameron plans to major in Physical Education at Union College.
