BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College men's and women's swimming head coach Rafael Forti announced the programs' 2014-15 schedule, recently.
In all, the Bulldogs will take part in dual meets against 12 different teams throughout the season, host their annual Winter Invitational at Stivers Aquatic Center in December, and culminate the season with trips to the Appalachian Swimming Conference (ASC) Championship and NAIA National Championship in February and March, respectively.
Things get underway for the Bulldogs on Oct. 17, as they travel to rival Cumberlands (Ky.) for an annual dual meet beginning at 6 p.m. Following a pair of dual's at Milligan against the host Buffaloes and Mars Hill (N.C.) on Oct. 24, Union opens their home schedule on Nov. 8, hosting Campbellsville (Ky.) and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) at Stivers Aquatic Center. The next week, the Bulldogs entertain Asbury (Ky.) and Bethel (Tenn.) at home on Nov. 15, before ending the month with a dual meet at Transylvania (Ky.) on Nov. 22.
The Bulldogs wrap up the 2014 portion of their schedule hosting the annual Union College Winter Invitational in Barbourville on Dec. 5th and 6th. After a long break, Union hits the road to open 2015 on Jan. 31, traveling to West Virginia Tech to take on the host Bears and Fairmont State (W.Va.), before ending the regular season on Feb. 7 at home, hosting King (Tenn.), St. Catharine (Ky.), and Columbia (S.C.) in the program's annual Senior Day.
From Feb. 12-14, the Bulldogs will once again travel to Christiansburg, Va. for the 2015 ASC Championships, where last year the women's team placed fourth and the men finished fifth. The season will come to an end at the 2015 NAIA National Championships, which will be held in Oklahoma City, Okla. for the fourth straight season starting on Mar. 4. Action concludes on Mar. 7.
