BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Junior Brandon Kibert has been named a 2007 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for Men's Track & Field, the NAIA announced recently.

The marks the first time a Bulldog has earned this honor, and Kibert is the second student-athlete in school history be named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete twice in the same academic year. Becki Woodworth received the honors for women's soccer and women's basketball in 2005-06. Kibert was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete in men's cross country in the fall.

To be named an Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be a minimum of a junior in academic standing and have at least a 3.5 grade-point average.

Kibert had a solid season in track, qualifying for the NAIA National Championship Meet in the marathon. He placed 33rd out of 51 runners with a time of 2 hours, 48 minutes and 3.55 seconds.
