BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Eighteen conference games were not enough to determine who'll be the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament. So, Union College and King College will square off Monday at 7 p.m. on the campus of Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tenn., to iron out who will be the top-seeded team and earn the automatic berth to the NAIA Division II National Championship Tournament.
Union (22-7 overall) and King (18-10 overall) ended the regular-season with identical 15-3 conference records. The two teams split the season series with each winning on their home floors. On Nov. 27, Union needed overtime to pull out the 70-68 decision. King posted a 91-82 victory on Jan. 26.
Both teams enter the contest on a bit of a hot streak as each have won their last six contests.
The game will be held at James L. Robb Gymnasium on the campus of Tennessee Wesleyan in Athens, Tenn. To get to the gym, take exit 49 off of I-75 and follow Highway 30 approximately 3.5 miles. Robb Gymnasium will be on the left at the bottom of the hill. Parking is provided behind the gym and across the street. (Directions courtesy of Tennessee Wesleyan's website.)
