
ROME, Ga. – Sam Lee fired the low round for the Union College Bulldogs in the first round of the Rome News-Tribune Invitational hosted by No. 8 Berry (Ga.) College Monday. Union finished the day with a team score of 319 which puts the Bulldogs 16th.
Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) is tied for 27th in the individual standings after his 74 in the opening round. Magnus Lundberg (Stockholm, Sweden) followed with a 77 for Union.
No. 9 Lindenwood (Mo.) University owns the team lead after the first round with a 288. Brock Robillard posted a 69 to share the individual lead and help put Lindenwood in front. Northwood (Fla.) University and No. 12 Campbellsville (Ky.) University are three shots behind Lindenwood on the team leaderboard.
The second round tees off Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. The two-day event is at the par-72 and 6,835-yard layout of the Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome, Ga.
