ROME, Ga. – A final-round score of 315 left the Union College Bulldogs one shot away from 15th place at the Rome News-Tribune Invitational Tuesday. No. 8 Berry College hosted the invitational at the Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome, Ga.

Stonebridge played at 6,835 yards and as a par-72.

Sam Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) followed his first-round 74 with a 78 on Tuesday. He finished tied for 38th in the individual standings. David Goscombe (Liverpool, England) also fired a 78 for the Bulldogs’ cause in the final round. Magnus Lundberg (Stockholm, Sweden) was in a tie for 57th with a two-day score of 156 after his 79 Tuesday.

Union did move past King (Tenn.) College, a fellow Appalachian Athletic Conference team. The Bulldogs' final score was 634 while King posted a 637. The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) was 15th with a score of 633.

No. 9 Lindenwood (Mo.) University finished with a two-day total of 580, three shots in front of Berry to claim the team crown. Northwood (Fla.) University was third while No. 12 Campbellsville (Ky.) University and Shorter (Ga.) College tied for fourth with similar scores of 592.

Campbellsville’s Jeff Gumm won a four-man play off for the individual crown. He went three-under-par Tuesday with a 69 for a two-day total of 141.

The Bulldogs will play at the Montreat College Spring Invitational next week. The two-day event gets underway on Monday at the Crooked Creek Golf Club in Hendersonville, N.C.
