BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – In the first edition of the NAIA Region XII Softball Ratings, the Lady Bulldogs of Union College were placed third, the association announced Monday.
Union owns a 7-13 record so far through the 2008 season.
Indiana University Southeast, from the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, owns the top spot in the ratings while Milligan (Tenn.) College is second. King (Tenn.) College and UVa-Wise share fourth.
Tennessee Wesleyan College starts the next five, followed by Montreat (N.C.) College. Mountain State (W.Va.) University, Covenant (Ga.) College and Virginia Intermont College are seventh to tenth, respectively.
The Lady Bulldogs open the conference schedule Tuesday at Montreat. The first game of the doubleheader is set for a 2 p.m. start.
The second rating will come out Monday, March 24.
