
HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. – The Union College Bulldogs own a four-shot advantage after Monday’s first round of the Montreat College Spring Invitational. Union’s Adam LaTulippe owns the individual lead as well.
The two-day invitational is at the Crooked Creek Golf Course, a par-72 over a 6,652-yard layout, located in Hendersonville, N.C.
The Bulldogs used an opening-round 297 to take the lead at the half-way point. Brevard (N.C.), a NCAA Division II member, is second at 301. Southern Wesleyan University finished the day in third.
LaTulippe (Hamilton, Ohio) fired a three-under-par 69 to hold the 18-hole lead. Fellow Bulldog, Sam Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) is currently second with a first-round 72.
Magnus Lundberg (Stockholm, Sweden) and Brooks Napier (Walton, Ky.) posted scores of 76 and 80, respectively, for the Bulldogs' cause.
The final round gets underway Tuesday morning.
