BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College softball team dropped two home games against Pikeville (Ky.) College Wednesday. The first game had a final score of 8-6 with a 5-4 result to finish the day.

Suzannah Behnken (Tempe, Ariz.) and Sarah Driver (Hopkinsville, Ky.) went 2-for-4 at the plate in each game. One of Behnken’s hit was her second home run of the season, a two-run shot in the first game. Two of Driver's hits were doubles, one in each contest.

Driver tossed a complete game in a losing effort in game one. She allowed seven runs on seven hits and mixed in six strike outs.

Sherry Devault (Baltimore, Ohio) suffered the loss in the final contest with 4 1/3 innings of work. All five of Pikeville’s runs were charged to her.

After the set of games, Union has an 8-18 record and Pikeville owns a 6-4 mark.

Next on the schedule is an Appalachian Athletic Conference doubleheader against UVa-Wise at home Saturday afternoon. The first pitch is set for a 2 p.m. start.
