JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Sophomore Johnnie Nabors of Union College earned a spot on the podium at the NAIA Indoor Track & Field National Championships at the Memorial Center in Johnson City, Tenn., as he placed third in the 60 meter dash.
Nabors (Lawrenceville, Ga.) posted a time of 6.88 seconds, finishing behind Mike Rogers of Oklahoma Baptist and Orion Nicely of McKendree (Ill.), respectively. Rogers won with a time of 6.69 seconds, while Nicely ran it in 6.80 seconds.
Rounding out the field were Jamal Forbes of Dickinson State (N.D.), James Thomas of Graceland (Iowa) and Jordan Jeffers of Cumberlands (Ky.) as they crossed the line in 6.91, 6.92 and 6.93 seconds, respectively.
Nabors is Union's first-ever All-American in Indoor Track & Field. Tommie Oates earned All-American honors in the 100 meter dash in Outdoor Track & Field in 1992.
By placing third, Nabors gained six points for Union in the team standings.
