
LONDON, Ky. – The Union College Bulldogs slipped to 17th after a final-round 355 at the Southeastern Kentucky Intercollegiate Tournament on Friday at the Crooked Creek Golf Club.
Union was one of 22 teams that played the event at the par-72, 6,933 yard course located in London, Ky.
For the Bulldogs, Adam LaTulippe (Hamilton, Ohio) followed his first-round 79 with an 81 and finished tied for 38th. Sam Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) carded his second straight round of 82. Magnus Lundberg (Stockholm, Sweden) posted an 87 Friday.
No. 7 Lindenwood (Mo.) University held on for the team championship with a 305 in the final round to give the squad a two-day total of 607, four shots in front of Ohio Dominican University. No. 12 Campbellsville (Ky.) University was third, followed by Lee (Tenn.) University and No. 18 Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Lee and Southern Wesleyan (S.C.) University both posted scores of 303 to tie for the low team score on Friday.
Joshua Lawson, from Lee, won a two-way playoff over Lindenwood’s Brock Robillard for the individual medalist honor. Both golfers finished the event at two-over par. Each shot rounds of 73 in the first and second rounds.
Union will play in the UVa-Wise Spring Tournament next. The two-day event tees off on April 7 at Ridgefields Country Club in Kingsport, Tenn. The tournament is also a part of the Appalachian Athletic Conference championship. The first two rounds of the championship were played in September at the Montreat (N.C.) College Fall Invitational. The Bulldogs enter the final two rounds eight shots behind Tennessee Wesleyan College and ten ahead of Milligan (Tenn.) College and UVa-Wise.
