MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Union College Bulldogs' tennis team, ranked No. 14, lost a 5-2 match to No. 13 Berry (Ga.) College Saturday morning in a battle of Top-15 squads.

After the match, Union went to 8-2 on the year while Berry goes to 7-5. The two met as a part of the Blast-Off Classic hosted by Shorter (Ga.) College, but the match was played at Berry's Richards Tennis Complex.

Union trailed 3-0 after doubles' action. The two points came from Gustavo Holz (Vitoria, Brazil) and Pablo Costa (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively. Both Bulldogs won in straight sets. Holz defeated Andre Ferreira 7-6 (1) and 6-3 while Costa used scores of 6-2 and 6-2 to defeat Daniel Mician.

Union will host Carson-Newman (Tenn.) College, a NCAA Division II foe, Monday for a 2 p.m. match.
