KINGSPORT, Tenn. – A final-round 72 from Adam LaTulippe paced the way for Union College's golf team to post another score of 309 in Tuesday's final round of the UVa-Wise Spring Invitational.

The two-day event was at the Ridgefields Country Club in Kingsport, Tenn. The par-70 layout played at 6,405 yards.

LaTulippe (Hamilton, Ohio) bettered his first-round effort by two shots. He finished in a tie for ninth with a two-day score of 146. Magnus Lundberg (Stockholm, Sweden) was the next lowest Bulldog with a 76 which placed him 13th overall. Sam Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) also improved by two shots for a 77 on Tuesday. Brooks Napier (Walton, Ky.) carded an 84.

Union finished in sixth place with a two-day total of 618, 11 shots behind Covenant (Ga.) College.

A final-round 292 from Spartanburg Methodist (S.C.) College was not enough to catch first-round leader Tennessee Wesleyan College. The Bulldogs of Tennessee Wesleyan held on for the 13-shot victory, 579-592. King (Tenn.) College was one shot ahead of Milligan (Tenn.) College for third place.

Matt Jackson, from Spartanburg Methodist, and Tennessee Wesleyan's Casey Fleniken finished tied for medalist honors with two-day totals of 142.

In the AAC regular-season standings, Tennessee Wesleyan took the crown. The two rounds at Ridgefields was combined with the Montreat (N.C.) College Fall Invitational results from September. Tennessee Wesleyan had a four-round total of 1,180. Union finished fourth and the Bulldogs were only two shots from second-place Milligan. King was sandwiched inbetween. Milligan led the group with a 1,225.

Fleniken took the AAC's top spot, five shots better than teammate Brett Connerford. LaTulippe had the fourth-best score, four shots behind Milligan's Grayson Patton. The final spot on the All-AAC team went to King's Brad Weaver.

Next on the schedule are the Appalachian Athletic Conference and NAIA Region XII Tournaments played in conjunction at the London Country Club, in London, Ky. Action tees off Monday for the 54-hole event.
