
LONDON, Ky. – Junior Sam Lee used a final-round 76 to earn a spot on the NAIA All-Region XII and All-Appalachian Athletic Conference tournament teams Tuesday at the NAIA Region XII/AAC Men's Golf Tournament.
Lee (Knoxville, Tenn.) finished tied for third with a three-round total of 226 with Bluefield (Va.) College's Brandon Holloway.
The tournament was played on the par-71 London Country Club. The 6,356 yard layout is in London, Ky.
Adam LaTulippe (Hamilton, Ohio) just missed joining Lee on the All-Tournament teams. A final-round 75 put LaTulippe in a tie for sixth, one shot away from the Top-5. He had a three-round score of 231. Magnus Lundberg (Stockholm, Sweden) posted an 80 and Brooks Napier (Walton, Ky.) carded an 86.
In the team standings, Union compiled a 317 on Tuesday which sent the Bulldogs from sixth to seventh. Union's score was 959 for the three rounds and was ten shots behind UVa-Wise. UVa-Wise made the leap over Union behind the best team score of the day, a 305.
Tennessee Wesleyan College had the next best round Tuesday, a 306, and earned the NAIA Region XII Championship. The automatic bid to the NAIA Men's Golf National Championship goes to Tennessee Wesleyan. The winning score for Tennessee Wesleyan was 912 with Covenant (Ga.) College in second at 939.
Third to sixth place was separated a four shot margin. Milligan (Tenn.) College was third at 945, one shot better than King (Tenn.) College. Bluefield finished fifth at 948 and bested UVa-Wise by one stroke.
