BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College men's tennis team was honored with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Coach and Player of the Year awards Friday, as announced by the organization. Three other Bulldogs landed on the All-AAC team.

This marks the second straight year Renzo Lopez has earned the AAC Coach of the Year nod. Lopez led Union to a perfect 5-0 conference season as the Bulldogs climbed to No. 10 nationally. Union enters the postseason with an overall record of 10-2.

Anthony Hill (Guayaquil, Ecuador) picked up another AAC Player of the Year award. He also won the award in 2006 as a freshman. The junior did not drop a conference match this season as he played in the No. 1 singles' spot.

He was joined on the All-AAC first team by Gustavo Holz (Vitoria, Brazil), Rafael Millon (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Pablo Costa (San Pedro Sula, Honduras). The trio all had unblemished records in conference play.

Costa and Hill have been on the All-AAC team for three straight seasons. Millon was selected to the AAC's All-Sportsmanship team as well.

Two Bulldogs, Juan Manuel Lorenzo (Barcelona, Spain) and Roscoe Moonieyam (East London, South Africa), made the grade to earn Academic All-AAC honors. Lorenzo made his second straight Academic All-AAC team.

Union opens the AAC Tournament Friday with a semifinal contest against the winner between Covenant (Ga.) College and UVa-Wise at 1 p.m. The tournament is in Johnson City, Tenn.
