
BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – No. 23 Union College was honored with the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Coach and Player of the Year awards Friday, the conference announced. Three more Lady Bulldogs were selected to the All-AAC team.
Renzo Lopez has earned the AAC Coach of the Year nod for the second-straight season. Union went through conference play undefeated with a 5-0 record. The Lady Bulldogs have an overall record of 9-4 entering the AAC Tournament Friday.
Camila Cuhna (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added the AAC Player of the Year award with her third straight All-AAC honor. She did not drop a No. 1 singles' conference match this season.
Juliana Negosek (Curitiba, Brazil), Ximena Aguilar (Morelia, Mexico) and Yeris Vargas (Merida, Venezuela) all joined Cuhna on the All-AAC team. The trio did not lose in conference play this season, in doubles or singles.
Vargas was an All-AAC selection last season and repeated as an Academic All-AAC honor. Aguilar was placed on the AAC's All-Sportsmanship team.
Union will play either Covenant (Ga.) College or King (Tenn.) College in an AAC Tournament semifinal contest Friday at 2:30 p.m.
