BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College sophomore Sherry DeVault has been recognized as the Appalachian Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Union went 5-1 last week with all six game being conference contests, improving its overall record to 19-25 and AAC mark to 10-6.

DeVault (Baltimore, Ohio) went 3-0 last week with a 1.00 earned-run average. She averaged a strikeout per inning as she fanned 21 in 21 innings of work. DeVault's best outing came against Bluefield (Va.) College when she tossed a complete-game, two-hitter and struck out 11 in a 9-0 victory.

On the season, DeVault is 7-11 with a 3.65 ERA and has 79 strikeouts in 128.1 innings of work.

Union returns to action Wednesday as it will play host to Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College at 2 p.m.
