BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Union College softball team climbed to third in this week's NAIA Region XII rankings, the organization announced Monday.

The Lady Bulldogs were seventh last week, but a 5-1 run moved Union up the ranks. All six games were in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. After the week, the Lady Bulldogs ended conference play at 10-6 and own a 19-25 record.

Milligan (Tenn.) College and UVa-Wise are first and second, respectively once again, followed by Union. Mountain State (W.Va.) University slipped to fourth while Tennessee Wesleyan College and Indiana University Southeast share fifth.

King (Tenn.) College holds the seventh spot. Covenant (Ga.) College, Midway (Ky.) College and Virginia Intermont College rounds out the Top-10.

The last regular-season games of the season for Union are scheduled for Wednesday when Alice Lloyd (Ky.) College visits for a 2 p.m. doubleheader.
