BANNER ELK, N.C. - Newcomer Sara Seitz set three new Union College records at the Appalachian Athletic Conference Women's Track Championship this past weekend.

Seitz (Lexington, Ky.) ran to a school record in the 400 meters. Her time was one minute and 4.68 seconds. She added another record run in the 200 meters with a time of 28.80.

The Union long jump record also went to Seitz with a 14 foot and 11.5 inch leap.

Brittany Puryear (Somerset, Ky.) tossed the discus 66 feet and 2 inches to break the school record. She also had a 22 feet and 4.25 inch shot put throw.

Jessica Florence (Frankfort, Ky.) picked up a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a 15.07 second run. She had a 13 feet and 7.75 performance in the long jump.

Tara Tye (Williamsburg, Ky.) just missed All-AAC honors in the triple jump. Her best effort was 28 feet and 8.5 inches.

The team finished fourth in the team standings with five points, four behind UVa-Wise. King (Tenn.) College was the champions with 173 points followed by Milligan (Tenn.) College.

The AAC Championship was a part of the Tri-Conference Championship at Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C. The South Atlantic Conference and Conference Carolinas, both NCAA Division II conferences, were a part of the meet.
