BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – Union College sophomore Sarah Driver made a repeat appearance on the 2008 All-Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball team, the league announced Tuesday. Freshman Ashley Tatman also was selected to the squad.

Driver, a pitcher and outfielder from Hopkinsville, Ky., led the Lady Bulldogs with a .378 batting average. She also led the team in runs scored with 35 and tied for the most doubles with 13. Driver had 19 runs driven in along with a triple.

On the mound, she compiled a 12-11 record with a 2.10 earned-run average. In her 22 games started, Driver had 21 complete games, four were shut outs. In 153 innings she struck out 150 batters and issued 52 walks. Opponents hit .210 off her.

She was the AAC and NAIA Region XII Pitcher of the Year last season to go along with the All-AAC and Region XII honors.

Tatman made the team as the designated player. The Lexington, Ky. native ranked second on the team with a .345 average and led the Lady Bulldogs with four home runs. Her 26 runs scored were second on the squad and she also drove in 22 runs.

Union opened the AAC Tournament with a 3-2 win over King (Tenn.) College, the sixth seed. The Lady Bulldogs, the No. 3 seed, improved to 20-25.
