MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – No. 9 Union College swept their way to the NAIA Region XII Men's Tennis Championship over Tennessee Wesleyan College 5-0 Saturday and earned a trip to the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship.

Anthony Hill (Guayaquil, Ecuador) came from behind to secure his second-straight NAIA Region XII Men's Tennis Player of the Year award. He defeated Newton Mizutani 4-6, 6-0 and 6-2 for the No. 1 singles' and match-clinching point. Hill also won the Appalachian Athletic Conference Player of the Year award.

Union's Renzo Lopez was awarded the NAIA Region XII Men's Tennis Coach of the Year award after the victory that moved the Bulldogs to 15-2. He adds this to the AAC Coach of the Year awarded to him last week.

Gustavo Holz (Vitoria, Brazil) added a No. 2 doubles' win, 6-1 and 6-0 after Union took all three doubles' points.

The first four points were decided at Milligan College, Tenn., but the matches were forced to the Bristol Tennis and Racquetball Club due to rain.

This year's NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship starts May 12, with the championship on May 16 in Mobile, Ala.

Last season, Union won in the opening round of the NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship to reach the Sweet 16, but that is as far as the Bulldogs could go.
