
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the 24-team field for this year's NAIA Women's Tennis National Championship Monday, and among the group is No. 23 Union College.
Action gets underway Monday, May 12 in Mobile, Ala., with the national championship to be decided May 16.
This marks the second straight trip for Union. Last year, the Lady Bulldogs won in the opening round to reach the Sweet 16.
This season, Union finished with an overall record of 14-4 with the Region XII Championship along with the Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season and tournament crowns.
The Lady Bulldogs feature the Region XII and AAC Player of the Year Camila Cunha (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Renzo Lopez, the Region XII and AAC Coach of the Year.
Auburn Montgomery (Ala.) University, ranked No. 1 all season, looks to defend the 2007 title. Auburn Montgomery and Union are among the 12 region champions and the other 12 teams were selected as at-large representatives.
The championship will be contested at the Mobile Tennis Center. The official tournament bracket will be announced May 7 before 6 p.m.
