
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - Union College suffered a tough blow to its hopes of winning the 2008 NAIA Region XII Softball Tournament as No. 4 seed and host Indiana University Southeast posted a 6-0 victory in Wednesday's opening round contest.
With the loss, the fifth-seeded Lady Bulldogs dropped to 22-28 on the year, while Indiana Southeast improved to 30-10 overall.
Union struggled to push runs across all game. In the fourth, Union had the bases loaded with one out, but the threat ended with Union failing to score.
Union drops to the losers' bracket and will play again Thursday at 12 p.m.
