
NEW ALBANY, Ind. - For the second year in a row, Union College placed multiple players on the All-NAIA Region XII Team as Sarah Driver and Ashley Tatman made the squad, the league announced Thursday.
Driver, a sophomore pitcher and outfielder from Hopkinsville, Ky., boasts a .355 batting average. She leads the team in runs scored with 36 and tied for the most doubles with 13. Driver had 19 runs driven in along with a triple.
On the mound, she compiled a 14-12 record with a 1.91 earned-run average. In her 25 games started, Driver had 24 complete games, four were shut outs. In 176 innings she struck out 175 batters and issued
57 walks. Opponents are hitting .205 against Driver.
This marks the second year in a row Driver earned All-Region Team.
Tatman, a freshman infielder from Lexington, Ky., leads the team with a .356 average and four home runs. Her 28 runs scored were second on the squad and she also drove in 27 runs.
Union (22-28 overall) is currently playing in the NAIA Region XII Tournament at Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Ind.
