BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - DeMorrio Leggett of Bardstown High School has signed to continue his track and field career at Union College. Leggett is coming off an individual and team KHSAA State Champion in May.

Leggett won the triple jump at the state championship with a leap of 47-11 3/4 inches which is also a personal best. He added a pair of second-place finishes at the state championship as well in the long jump and 110-meter hurdles. Leggett cleared 21-11 in the long jump and needed 15.37 seconds in the 110 hurdles.

The newest Bulldog owns personal bests of 22-1 in the long jump and a time of 14.85 over the 110 hurdles.

"We are extremely excited to have DeMorrio on the team," Union head coach Jamie Jimison commented. "He brings a great deal of talent to an already deep group of sprinters and jumpers."

Leggett was coached by Tom Williams at Bardstown.

"He will provide immediate and important contributions to our success as a team," Jimison added.

Union's track and field team finished 24th nationally at the indoor championship and 26th at the outdoor championship which were the best finishes in the modern era in both championships.
