Union head coach Jamie Jimison looks for the newest Bulldog to also compete in the decathlon.

The signing marked the third Knox Central athlete to sign with the Union track and field team. Niebel joins Seth Bargo and Beth Bowlin, and all were coached by Steve Partin.

"We are very excited to have Corey with us," Jimison commented. "He has a tremendous work ethic, and is eager to learn. Because he is so versatile, he will make an immediate impact in many areas on our team."

Union's track and field team finished 24th nationally at the indoor championship and 26th at the outdoor championship which were the best finishes in the modern era in both championships.
