WISE, Va. - The Union College volleyball team picked up another 3-0 sweep in Appalachian Athletic Conference action Saturday. This win came at UVa-Wise and marks the second straight 3-0 win for the Lady Bulldogs.

Union took the first set with a score of 25-18 and won the next two with 25-13 and 25-15 scores.

The win improved the Lady Bulldogs' conference record to 3-2 and 7-4 overall. UVa-Wise fell to 3-9 overall and 1-4 in the AAC.

Monica Moreland (Louisville, Ky.) was credited with 31 assists with six digs. Meg Donnelly (Middletown, Ohio) added eight digs. Stephanie Pateman (Weyburn, Canada) led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 kills.

Autumn Combs (Florence, Ky.) had a pair of fives, five blocks and five kills. Brooke Vinovich (Somerset, Ky.) recorded seven kills with six digs.

The duo of Marlee Cooper (Bloomington, Ill.) and Amelia Cantrell (Georgetown, Ky.) added five kills apiece.

Union returns home for an AAC meeting against Virginia Intermont College Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Lady Bulldog Notes

  • The last five matches have all been decided in three sets and Union has a 3-2 record during that stretch.
  • In all 3-0 matches this year Union has a 6-2 record.
  • Pateman's 13 kills are the most by any Lady Bulldog this season. It is also the fourth time she has recorded 10 or more kills in a match in 2008.
