BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College sophomore Monica Moreland collected the Appalachian Athletic Conference Setter of the Week award, the organization announced Monday.
Moreland, a Louisville, Ky. native, recorded 86 assists during a three-match week. She recorded back-to-back 31 assist performances at Bluefield (Va.) College and UVa-Wise. Moreland also had two kills in each contest. Her 10 digs at Bluefield was her fourth double-double of the season. Against King (Tenn.) College, Moreland had 24 assists.
In her freshman campaign, Moreland won the AAC Setter of the Week award five times en route to the AAC Player, Freshman and Setter of the Year awards.
Union went 2-1 during the week and all three matches came in the form of 3-0 sweeps. The Lady Bulldogs own a 7-4 record and a 3-2 conference mark entering Tuesday's home AAC contest against Virginia Intermont College at 7 p.m.
