
MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. - The Union College men's soccer team suffered a 2-1 overtime defeat at Milligan (Tenn.) College Saturday in Appalachian Athletic Conference play.
Union scored the match-tying goal in the 82nd minute when Sideek Sanogo (Ivory Coast) booted home a one-timer after Dan Johnson (Lancashire, England) provided him the ball. It was Johnson's first assist of his Union career.
Joel Cowan put the home-standing Buffs in front halfway through the first half and the overtime goal came from Josh Stephens in the 95th minute.
After the contest, Union and Milligan share similar 2-1 conference records. Union's overall record went to 7-2-2 and Milligan moved to 5-6.
"We played well today and I am proud to see our team fight adversity," Union head coach Tyler Brock said.
The Bulldogs return home for a Tuesday contest against Kentucky Wesleyan College. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m.
