BARBOURVILLE, Ky. - Union College seeks to bring home the "Brass Lantern" Saturday as the Bulldogs play host to University of the Cumberlands (Ky.). Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.

The Union-Cumberlands game never requires any extra motivation for coaches, players and fans to get up for the annual tilt, but this year's matchup carries serious conference and national implications.

Union is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the Mid-South Conference East and is the 11th-ranked team in the NAIA. Meanwhile, the Patriots are 4-1 overall, 1-0 in conference play and ranked No. 16. The victor will have the inside track to securing the MSC East championship as well as a playoff spot.

Cumberlands won last year's meeting 24-19 and leads the series with a 20-9 overall mark.
