Jamaine Gordon enters his first season as the head coach for the Union College cross country and track & field programs. He spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Union with duties of overseeing the sprint and jumping events during the track and field seasons.
A 2007 graduate of Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) College, Gordon received his bachelor's degree in Communications. A four-year member of the Blue Raider track & field team, he qualified for the NAIA National Championship meets every year. Gordon is a four-time Indoor Track & Field All-American as well as a four-time Outdoor Track & Field All-American. In 2005, Gordon won the NAIA Individual National Championship in the triple jump.
The Fort Campbell, Ky. native named All-Mid-South Conference in the long jump once and in the triple jump twice.
Gordon is single and resides in Barbourville.
Ross Weller enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Union College cross country and track and field programs.
Weller was a four-year member of the Swarthmore College track and cross country teams. He was a two-time captain at the NCAA Division III school. While there he was a four-time Centennial Conference medalist, three times in the steeplechase and once in the distance medley relay.
He comes to Union after spending a year working at the Bronx Preparatory Charter School in Bronx, N.Y. as a sixth and seventh grade teacher.
Weller earned his bachelor degree in English Literature and education from Swarthmore in 2008.
