Head Coach - 4th Season

 

  • Chelsea Gilliam enters her fourth season as the head coach for both the Union men's and women's bowling teams in 2015-16.
  • Gilliam became the interim head coach for the Union bowling programs in September of 2012, making her the third person to lead the teams in program history and the first woman. She was promoted to the full-time position in May of 2013.
  • In 2015, Gilliam led the Union men's to their second straight runners-up finish at the Mid-South Conference Tournament, as the Bulldogs made a run to the finals as a number six seed.
  • Gilliam also coached Raymond Repaci, who was the Mid-South individual champion on the men's side as a freshman in 2015.
  • Meanwhile, the Union women's team finished third on their side of the Mid-South Tournament Bracket
  • In 2014, Gilliam led the Union men's team all the way to the finals of the Mid-South Conference Tournament, as the Bulldogs finished second overall.
  • For her efforts throughout the season, Gilliam was named the MSC's Women's Co-Head Coach of the Year, as well. 
  • Gilliam came to Union during the summer of 2012 to be the assistant coach for the Bulldog bowling teams.
  • A 2012 graduate of University of Pikeville (Ky.) with bachelors of science degrees in mathematics and psychology, Gilliam was a four-year member of the Lady Bears bowling team, helping them win the 2012 NAIA national championship. Gilliam participated in the USBC National Tournament twice during her tenure at Pikeville.
  • A breast cancer survivor, Gilliam was chosen as a "Fabulous Four" winner by the United States Bowling Congress in 2015, one of only four recipients of the award annually.
  • Hailing from Pecatonica, Ill., Gilliam was a four-year member of the Winnebago High bowling team. She placed seventh in the state as a freshman before being crowning state champion as junior. Gilliam bowled three 300 games in high school.
