Roscoe Moonieyan joined the Union tennis coaching staff as the associate head coach in July of 2013 before becoming the head coach in the fall of 2013. He will enter his second season at the helm of the Bulldog program in 2015.

Moonieyan is no stranger to Union as he played tennis and soccer for the Bulldogs and served as an assistant tennis coach for two seasons.

A 2009 graduate of Union, Moonieyan played four seasons for the Bulldogs and helped them to six total Appalachian Athletic Conference championships (regular-season and tournament) and three berth to the NAIA National Championship Tournament. He was twice named to the Academic All-Conference Team and was an All-AAC Team member in 2009.

Moonieyan then served as an assistant for the Union men's and women's tennis programs for two years with the men sweeping both the regular-season and tournament conference titles each year and advancing to the national tournament. In 2011, he was named the ITA NAIA East Region Assistant Coach of the Year.

After Union suspended the tennis programs following the 2011 season, Moonieyan founded "Tenacity Academy," a tennis academy in his hometown of East London, South Africa. The academy is East London's first-ever tennis academy to be international linked and networked to other coaches and countries.

Moonieyan returned to the United States in 2012 when he was hired as the assistant men's and women's tennis coach at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The UAH men's program made school history as it advanced to the NCAA Division II National Championships and won its first-ever national tournament match. The program also received its highest ranking ever at No. 41 and set the school record for most wins.

For his part in UAH's success, Moonieyan was named the 2012 ITA NCAA DII South Region Assistant Coach of the Year.
